There’s a reason that only 1% of the population controls the majority of the world’s wealth. Two contributing reasons are. First, most entrepreneurs falsely assume that they have an idea of a billion dollars and, second, that they suffer from a broken mindset that restricts their financial outlook. Creating wealth starts in the mind first and if you don’t have the mental capacity to create your own wealth, chances are you will never see massive deposits hit your bank account. And if you’re ok with that, this article isn’t for you. But, for those of you ready to go out and grab the life of wealth and freedom that you desire, listen up!
There are several “broke” habits that people have adopted over time that have greatly inhibited most people’s ability to gain wealth. For instance, overly relying on the government, living way beyond your means, and perhaps the worst of all…credit. While some people have adopted these habits based on survival, the majority of you all have been brainwashed into thinking that these habits are a “normal” part of life and over time this sense of “normalcy” has gotten much worse. I’d hate to break it to you, but most of you Millennials and Gen-Z kids have been screwed by these habits from the start. However, it’s not too late to break free from the mental enslavement and move forward towards wealth creation.
GOVERNMENT RELIANCE
I can’t stress enough how detrimental this “wealth should be given to me” attitude is in this country. Everyone wants to be millionaires and billionaires, but no one wants to go out and grab it themselves. Instead, people would rather sit on the sidelines and turn to the government to solve all their problems. NEWS FLASH, you’ll never gain real wealth waiting on the government to rescue you. If you believe the government is going to give you millions just because you don’t want to get off your ass and figure things out on your own, you’re completely out of your mind. Yet, somehow many people these days have been conditioned to believe this and when they see the 1% thriving, they turn around and feel entitled to their money as well. “We need to increase the taxes on the rich…” This is bullshit. Why on earth should people who have more money be financially responsible for those who are fully capable of going out and creating their own wealth? Not to mention, even with greater taxes on the rich, the government still won’t be distributing more of this money to you. This idea of government assistance is nothing more than a plot to control the masses. After all, if you control a person’s wallet, you control their life. Even if the government was to offer you a million dollars today, you better believe it comes with many strings attached. This is why relying on the government to supply you with wealth will NEVER happen, because wealth is much more than money. It is freedom and to be quite frank, freedom for all is not in the government’s plans for your future.
LIVING BEYOND MEANS
Clearly, this one is obvious. Accumulating wealth means you have to build your bank account, yet many people have gotten into a bad habit of spending much more than they actually make. Of course, you need a place to live, but it’s not wise to spend over half your income on a mortgage payment. That’s not a wealthy mindset. And for some reason, a lot of people have this unbearing desire to look like they have this amazing lifestyle instead of actually going out and getting it. Surely, if you have social media, you see this all the time. They go out and buy all these expensive materialistic things, but barely have $1,000 in their bank accounts. They constantly have money going out the door on liabilities instead of investing their money in assets that could make them more money. This is blatantly stupid. No one is saying that you can’t enjoy your life, but your first priority should be focusing on how you can bring in more income so that you can create and sustain long term wealth. At the end of the day, no one important cares about all your bullshit material items, and the people they do attract into your life will be gone if you ever lost it all. So, stop living to impress other people and live the way that’s sustainable for you and your family.
Last, credit…the gift from the devil himself. The number one reason why most people will never accumulate wealth is that they are in too much debt. It’s very easy to become broke when you’re spending money that’s not yours, to begin with. Why? Because when you do have income coming in, it automatically belongs to your creditor. Forget about saving anything. This idea of “if I don’t have the money now, I’ll just finance it” is a toxic practice that has become more and more normalized. And the people giving out the money that you need has taken full advantage of this…even the government. You ever wondered why there was this great push for going to college and getting a higher education. Well, let’s be clear. It’s not because they’re teaching you anything useful at these schools. It’s because they can take advantage of young teens that are barely even old enough to vote and hold them accountable for tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt. Years later as a graduate, the problem is just beginning. Suddenly, you don’t end up with the amazing job that was promised to you at the end of your college career, you’re drowning in debt when your life is really just getting started. And even if you do get your dream job, the income coming in will almost immediately cycle right back out. You have to pay the student loans you took out. You have to pay the mortgage that you financed, you have to pay the car that you leased, and to top it off you have to pay off all of those credit cards you’ve been utilizing that have been rapidly incurring interest. In the simplest sense, this is a prime example of how being “broke” works. It has absolutely nothing to do with your income or earning power. It has to do with how much of your earnings are payable to your creditors. Which, for a lot of people, is 100%. As long as you owe money to somebody, it’s difficult to “have” any money, because at any time that you possess money, it “belongs” somewhere else.
So let’s ditch this idea of the harder you work, the further you will go in life. You can work hard all you want, but you’re not going to get very far if you continue on with these ridiculous habits. So, what’s holding you back? It’s time to work smarter. If you want to achieve real wealth, this is your reality check. The problem is not a lack of resources or opportunity. The problem is your mindset. Change it and see just how far you will go.
